Allie Sutherland, MS, IMH-E® earned a BA in Mathematics from Denison University, but later discovered her true passion for Early Childhood. She holds a Master of Science in Child Development, with a specialization in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, from San Diego State University. Allie also has a certificate in Early Childhood Social and Emotional Behavioral Intervention and is endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Mentor and Family Reflective Supervisor by the Alliance of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. With over 17 years of experience in Early Childhood, Allie has worked in various roles such as preschool teacher, child development specialist for First 5 Healthy Developmental Services in San Diego, program manager, and Reflective Supervisor of the Family Support Program First Five First Steps, which catered to Refugee/immigrant, military, teen and low-income families. In 2019, Allie moved to Indiana and began working as a Community Engagement Specialist with the state Child Care Resource and Referral Agency, as well as in community building and advocacy with the United Way. Currently, Allie is developing and coordinating the Northeast Indiana Early Childhood Coalition, which serves 11 counties in Northeast Indiana, and aims to ensure that all families have access to affordable quality childcare. Additionally, Allie works as a consultant on various community projects, including developing an early intervention screening program for Bridge of Grace in Southeast Fort Wayne, creating a leadership cadre with a focus on Infant and early childhood mental health with Ivy Tech Community College , and coordinating a regional project with ten different Community Foundations.
