Joni Zieldorff
Joni Zieldorff, LMSW, IECMH-E® is approaching two decades in the field of Infant Mental Health (IMH), delivering relationship-focused mental health therapy to infants and toddlers and their families in Wayne County, Michigan early in her career. During this time, Joni served as a trained Baby Court IMH Therapist (Safe Babies) and is rostered in Child-parent Psychotherapy. For the past eight years, Joni has been a team member for the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health where she is committed to focusing on inclusivity, equity and programming that support workforce development and wellness. Serving as the Executive Director, Joni is working alongside her team to progress MI-AIMH’s organizational development and under her leadership, MI-AIMH successfully secured five new state and foundation grants in 2023. Joni’s professional journey includes active participation in strategic planning, involvement in the Nonprofit Finance Fund Project through the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health, and participation in professional development opportunities that focus on organizational leadership, operations and governance. Joni is a passionate advocate for infant mental health at both the state and organizational levels, aiming to shape policies, increase funding, and raise awareness regarding the needs of infants, young children and the professionals that serve them. Joni is working with the MI-AIMH team on a transformative shift in MI-AIMH's organizational structure toward a shared power model to emphasize the impact of collective perspectives and support leadership communication, accountability, and succession planning.
